13th Annual Shepherds' Trust Golf Tournament!!!

Kleinburg Golf And Country Club

Monday September 14, 2009

This year’s Shepherds’ Trust golf tournament will again be held at the stately Kleinburg Golf and Country Club on Monday September 14, 2009.  We will continue with the scramble format and the shotgun start which takes place at 1:00 PM sharp!

Registration ($150.00 per golfer) includes golf, cart, BBQ lunch and the famous Kleinburg steak dinner with all the trimmings including the freshest vegetables and most delicious desserts north of Highway 7.

Registration opens at 11:30 AM followed by lunch on the patio. There will be plenty of time to mix and mingle with the many generous supporters of the Trust, including our honoured guests, the active and retired members of the clergy of the Archdiocese of Toronto.

It has been my honour to be associated with the Shepherds’ Trust since its inception on August 1, 1996.  This particular year is a very challenging time for most people and the tournament organizing committee would like to do something different this year but yet something very special.

Each golfer will receive a ‘special’ gift at the time of registration but rather than ‘stock’ a prize table at the conclusion of the dinner, all of us are being asked to participate in a gift for those less fortunate.

All golfers registered for this year’s Shepherds’ Trust golf tournament are being asked to bring with them non-perishable food items which will be placed in a truck belonging to St. Francis Table, a restaurant serving the less fortunate in Toronto.  Here are a few words to describe St. Francis Table……"When the Capuchins of Central Canada first considered establishing a restaurant for the poor, an interfaith demographic study indicated that a low-cost food outreach be opened in Parkdale to meet the specific needs of the poor in this area. St. Francis Table continues to meet this need.

St. Francis Table opened its doors December 1987 in Toronto’s Parkdale neighbourhood. With a seating capacity of 40 people, we average 250 meals per day. To date over 500,000 meals have been served.”

September 14th, 2009 is another chance for us to come together to say thanks to our Shepherds and to provide a needy gift to support the efforts of St. Francis Table.

On behalf of the organizing committee I extend a big welcome back and our sincere thanks to our corporate sponsors whose support assists with the cost of the tournament each year.  I also look forward to seeing each of our golfers again. Come out and enjoy the day; celebrate with the clergy and share joy with the many members of the Knights of Columbus who continue to throw their support behind this successful tournament.

Registration forms are attached CorpSponsor and Registration.. Payment can be made via cheque or credit card.  Please complete the form and return to Marisa Rogucki at 416-928-9188 or email at mrogucki@archtoronto.org

Mark your calendars now for Monday September 14, 2009 and the Thirteenth Annual Shepherds’ Trust Golf Tournament at Kleinburg Golf and Country Club.
